Step Rockets
It didn’t take long for Step Rockets to make waves. Just a mere 13 days after they posted “Kisser” on SoundCloud, the track generated over 50,000 plays and found itself #1 on Hype Machine.
The Minneapolis four-piece likes to twist psychedelic and modern pop notes into their four-on-the-floor indie rock, which launches the group into uncharted waters. The Flaming Lips are there, The Clash are there, but band’s fresh take on a moveable sound marks them uniquely dynamic and fun.
Furthermore, the name aptly describes the groups willingness to meld new sounds and styles while borrowing from genres such as Electronic Dance Music, New Wave, and Reggae. It is a cosmic recycling of past, present, and future music aimed to defy description.
PRESS:
They may be found in either the alternative or indie rock section at the local record store but they bring much more to the table than just your classic indie sound. At times they bring funky lyrics to the forefront and other times the guitars take over, really highlighting the group’s musical talents. -Music Isn’t That Bad
I find it difficult to place this single in one genre of music, and can honestly say that their single “If You Tried” is one of the more unique songs I’ve heard recently. -Minnesnowta Music Review
